CICT Website

Confetti needed a refresh in its entire website. The focus was to ensure prospective students had a clear journey from entrance to booking an open day. I developed ideas and frameworks for simplifying navigation towards subject specific courses whilst resfreshing the visuals with a bold new styling.

The Project

Refresh of the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies website that simplifies the current content and streamlines user journeys towards browsing course information and ultimately booking onto our open events.

The current legacy site has been bolstered and overfilled throughout the years given the ever changing education landscape leaving a bloated website without clear direction.

The first step involved stripping back the site into its key components so we could begin fleshing out our ideal user journeys.

This framework below was the result of several workshops with marketing to filter out our key pages and journeys.

Simplifying that further, we get a framework such as this:

Key Points

I thought more about the initial journey our prospective students make. After looking at GA, it would appear that a major pain point was the navigation itself - given common bounce rates on similar labeled pages. This new framework would remove multiple stray links and provide clear navigation towards open days and courses.

Creating a section dedicated to 'Study' would be a clear and concise funnel between users looking at Confetti for course information and those looking for news and updates. Breaking this down further, each subject area would have its own course page that includes everything to do with the subject, including news, alumni, special interests and importantly, the detailed course listings.

Simplifying the navigation and creating a straight-forward structure for searching any aspect of the site means that users can either easily jump to their intended destination or browse with further precision.
